Hi all! Just visited Cannon Beach and there is a sign on their door that says they are permanently closed. We tried for a month to call and get a reservation. The phone number and message is still active, but it is misleading. Sad the 988 Newman legacy has ended. fingers crossed for a new great restaurant in the future!

We made a reservation for New Year’s Eve for a group of 6. Turns out that the restaurant was closed and we had to figure it out a last minute plan for the end of the year dinner. No calls, no emails, just a voicemail that they never checked. If this is a way to run a business, I have no stars for you.

Having worked as a commercial fisherman oh so many years ago, and being from Alaska, I have had access to incredible halibut and fish in general. I’ve had it prepared in dozens of iterations. The halibut I had this evening was absolutely top three. In fact I don’t remember better, but top three seems safe just in case. The place is small and feels intimate. The service is excellent. Everything I’ve tried here in the two times I’ve been was delicious. House made ice cream for dessert. This place is worth it.
