Because of total lack of communication between Linn County Anesthesiologists and Surgery Center Cedar Rapids, I highly recommend others to NEVER use either of these Facilities. In November 2022, I had routine Rotator Cuff repair surgery. During General Interscalene Nerve Block for post-op pain, the Anesthesiologist (Dr. Adam Shires) unknowingly punctured my lung. Dr. Burkamper was very nice and cooperative with my wishes for bloodless surgery care. An older nurse told me “he is very good”. Nurses are usually the ones who actually know how competent the Doctors really are. I have read the poor reviews of the billing department, but what I care about more, is that my health is cared for by competent, caring Doctors.
Good luck paying your bill! You'll get contradictory notices in the mail and the online bill paying is glitchy and hard to understand.
Their billing system is awful. I have not gotten a paper bill from them in a couple years now. Now they text and their text portal never takes a payment. The local office seems to have outsourced billing to an even worse option.
This post is about billing only! I paid a bill a year ago and weeks later got another bill saying past due. I called and wasted a lot of time on hold. It was supposedly resolved and now a year later I have received 2 texts saying I owe for that same exact bill again! I had to waste time pulling up old records etc and call again. If I did not keep good records and remember I would have ended up paying them again. I wonder how many people pay twice.
