Dear Linea Hones, Please pull out of the purchase of East London Gym the ELGC has enough money to buy it and continue to operate it as a gymnastics centre. Jamie A should also be incredibly ashamed of himself for betraying his profession and the gymnastics community and most importantly by not offering it to ELGC to purchase initially. Cruel Developer who wants to evict well prosperous Gymnastics Centre to make a business. East London Gymnastics Centre in Beckton is not only a place where an Elite Squad Gymnast and future Olympians are produced. It’s a venue which provides an affordable sport activities for the Newham residents and many other Borough’s members (kids & adults). This developer wants to get rid of a gymnastics centre that is a beloved part of the community. Their website states that their ‘expertise lies in identifying the property development potential in derelict land and vacant buildings’ yet they’re trying to replace a gymnastics centre which is neither derelict nor vacant. They also claim to be committed to the ‘ethical development of sites’, which is laughable considering how morally wrong it would be for them to move forward with their plans.
