I once sarcastically told the motel manager, Jamie, that I started smoking because of him. I said it as if "I thought only bad people smoke, but since I believed you ( Jamie) are a “good person,” I copied you ( Jamie)". In reality, it was sugar-coated sarcasm — my way of pointing out that he drove me into smoking. He seemed to believe that. He forced me to wake up every day at 7 a.m. without my permission with cleaning excuse.
