I had previously used Lindemann chimney in 2017 and had a great experience, but was appalled by their unprofessional behavior for our most recently scheduled visit. I made an appointment one month out to have our chimneys checked for the season. Our appointment time was 11am and we were called around 9:30 for a one hour delay which we approved. We needed to remove a basement incinerator, built with the home in 1928, which was not used, and projected beyond otherwise finished interior walls in the basement laundry room. Lindemann came out, estimated a fair cost for removing what amounted to the front half of a chimney that originated in the basement, and rebricked the wall flush with the existing concrete foundation. The masonry work took place on a cold day. I asked them to delay as temps were due to increase to 40 soon. They said they do this all the time. The temp dipped to 18 degrees that night. They did not cover or heat work, as called for in brick layers codes and concrete codes. They use a torch method. The brick layer's publications have said this should be prohibited. The person I was chatting with to set up an appt for an estimate clearly did not know what I was talking about. Perhaps it was a language gap but I'd expect them to understand simple questions pertaining to their line of business. I'll get an estimate somewhere else.

We recently re-did our century's old chimney with the help of Allen and his team at Lindemann. After having three others come out to look at making our chimney operational, Allen was the only one who knew what we needed done. He and the entire team are knowledgeable, hard working, realistic and did not stop until the job got done. The price for the work was fair and it was scheduled within three weeks of the estimate. Last year, I called Lindemann Chimney Service to have them inspect a chimney in a newly bought house. The house and chimney are 90 years old. Without sweeping the chimney, the representative took photos of cobweb and soot lined flue, showed them to me, pointed out a minor crack in the lowest clay liner and declared the Chimney to be structurally unsound and in need of immediate replacement, as it would most likely leaks Carbon Monoxide gas into the home. This was hands down the worst experience I have had with home repair work in my life! We were quoted initially for tuck-pointing, a firebox and appliance liner. We had several companies evaluate our chimney and we chose Lindemann because they seemed great on the initial visit but as soon as they got our deposit everything changed! We soon found Lindemann to be highly disorganized, exceptionally hard to actually schedule despite having provided the deposit in full and generally unprofessional. Lindemann resurfaced our old brick fireplace. Their work is excellent. Sean, Raphael, Scott and Jen were very knowledgeable, professional, and talented. We now have a beautiful, modern fireplace. Would definitely do business with Lindemann again.

I have used this company for years, both for routine chimney cleaning and more complex matters like masonry work or re-lining the chimney. I have always been extremely pleased with the quality of the work. They are not cheap but they are on-time, efficient, tidy and do a great job.
