We stayed here on the Melbourne Cup weekend because we could only stay two nights in Beechworth and most other places had a three night minimum (we are not Victorians so we're very confused about this at the time of booking!) The initial impression pulling up was that it was rundown and a little creepy. The staff were friendly though and offered to help with our bags. This motel seriously requires renovations. The tap wasn't working, didn't get hot water on the basin. Shower was okay though. Bed side lamps didn't work. No air conditioning for a hot day. Wifi wasn't working. No exhaust on the bathroom which is not acceptable. Noisy, at Night, you can hear water flowing within the walls. Couldn't sleep well. No soap provided intially. TV not working properly.

From the moment we arrived at Linkaker Art Deco Motel, we were welcomed by a polite and informative front-of-house host who made check-in seamless. The building itself is truly an Art Deco lover’s dream, every detail feels like stepping back in time to an era of style and elegance (nurses’ quarters turned boutique motel, what a transformation!).
