This doctor refused to give me birth control recently. I am a 23 year old professional. I went in to have a pap smear and I asked her about going back on birth control and she said repeatedly that she “does not ‘just’ give birth control to anyone” and that she had looked at my charts and I did not “need” birth control. She said she only prescribes birth control to help control menstrual bleeding and not for the purposes of preventing pregnancy. She embarrassed me and I left upset and dumbfounded.
