While traveling far from home, it was truly a relief to discover such an excellent shop like Lightning Motorsports located in the North Pole (Fairbanks Area) of Alaska. From the moment I met James and saw his workshop, I felt confident that this was the perfect place to have some maintenance done on my bike during my extended road trip. Great service! James had my DR200 and TW200 running better than they ever have. He picked up and dropped off the bikes, was courteous and punctual, and kept me updated with photos, texts and emails. Would recommend to anyone who wants to feel confident their bike is in the best of hands. Just back from a trip to Vancouver, Hyder, Dawson City, Top of the World Highway, Chicken, and Central. Nearly 5,000 miles. The DR had no problems and we had a great time. Thanks again James.
From Virginia to Alaska and back on a motorcycle. I contacted James prior to the start of my trip about what services I anticipated needing during my trip, to include tires. James provided me with a written estimate, and we agreed on a date for service. Services were performed to the highest of standards, the price was more than reasonable, and my trip was a success. Oh, and while he's working on your motorcycle, go visit the Santa Shop in the North Pole. What an experience!
James went above and beyond for me and I can't rate this business high enough. I needed an emergency rear tire change on my motorcycle and even with short notice he got it done for me. He even offered to stay afters hours on a Sunday night to finish the work on my bike because of my tight schedule, that's a level of dedication you rarely see. He saved my trip and gained a customer for all future trips north.
