My husband has to get his blood drawn multiple times a month due to hemochromatosis. He was refused service today because they claimed his hemoglobin levels were at 19.2 and “the cutoff is 19”. We then spent all day at the Emergency room across the street trying to get a phlebotomy, because if he didn’t get a blood draw today he has very serious health risks like strokes and blood clots. The ER says his levels are NOT at 19.2 they are in 17.5. Your hemoglobin levels do not go down within a span of hours like this. Would love... read more

I love donating blood and platelets at Life South! The staff are very friendly and kind, and they treat their patients with the utmost respect.
Had a 10 o'clock appointment. Did everything pretty quick. The check-in lady was very nice. Then sit down Ready to get stuck for a Platelet donation. Had to listen to two ladies, one working and one off, talk about Tattoos and day's off for 15 or 20 minutes with no letup in site. Needless to say my time is valuable. I walked out. I have never done that in my life. I don't plan on returning.
I had a great experience donating blood today. The process was so quick and the nurses/techs are so professional. I can’t wait for my next time I can donate again.
