A technician performed the second draw on the same arm, near the same site. While I was actively applying pressure to the site, this technician insisted that I stop and removed the cotton ball in less than 5 seconds to apply a bandage. Within 3 minutes of leaving the lab, while walking home, I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my arm and could physically feel the sensation of blood leaking from the vein into the surrounding tissue (internal bleeding).
