Just took a tour with Claudia Rivers who is Head of UTEP’s Special Collections and it was beyond exceptional. UTEP has an amazing collection filled with archives and rare books and truly shows EPTX’s rich history. Claudia took the time to show my mother and I ( I am a graduate student at UNT, getting my MLS in archives and special collections) UTEP’s collection, even though she was preparing for Border Archives Bazaar. It is so disappointing that I am forced to pay $300 in student activity fees and it is so difficult to take advantage of the resources on campus! For a college of UTEPs size it is a disgrace that library closes every time there is a home football game! And there is no facebook notice or google hours update when this occurs! I could not care less about football so I have no idea when they play! A fantastic place, find your favorite corner and get your study on. Bump into your classmates and future friends. Don't forget to pick up after yourselves and say thank you to the folks at the cafe and help desk.
