I found Liberty Hardwoods through a local professional cabinet maker and great friend two years ago. I decided to make my own kitchen from scratch in my own small woodshop, and something like three loads later, total under $2k, it's finally done! Liberty was flexible and accommodating as I was 4 hrs away in extreme NE Iowa. Some hardwood (stiles, rails, etc) was ordered sight unseen by grade and size alone, and it arrived and was perfect - no scenanigans. “HANG WITH A LAME AND YOU WILL WALK WITH A LIMP.” Absolutely the most regrettable decision I made in 2025 was to start a business relationship with this company. Complete incompetence and disregard for my business and my clients. Multiple excuses why they cancelled delivery. When I finally had enough and brought it to the managers attention he actually told me we weren’t a good fit. I’m not sure how much he makes but I guarantee that if the company was handling my account correctly I would have bought enough lumber this year... read more

I went there for Basswood, for a highly specialized carving project. Their policy of not allowing buyers in their warehouse for safety reasons has grown to one of "you will take what we select for you, sight unseen". That does not work for fine woodcarving.
