UPDATE/EDIT after owner's response: My husband noticed the cut of the tourmaline got soften immediately after they removed whatever that got stuck on the stone at that time but he felt bad for pointing it out to them since it was late, so he just let it go. He called me the same night that happened (since I was out of the country at the time) but because the last experience with my wedding ring was great, we agreed to let it go.
