Thank you to those who posted before me. Dr. Leung called me and said, “I have good news and bad news”. That approach didn’t work for me. (Just tell me… no prefacing!) She proceeded to say “The good news is you do not have cancer. The bad news is you have an atypical papillary lesion”. Dr. Leung preformed an ultrasound on a knot under my breast at Ridley Tree Cancer Center in Santa Barbara in 2020. Her findings were interpreted to be a milk cyst and I was told to just ignore the knot. Fast forward one year later I had a second opinion and a biopsy done and found out that this supposed “cyst” was actually a cancerous tumor. Dr. Leung gave me an ultrasound last May after I went to my gynecologist concerned about a very small lump I found. I knew it was abnormal for my own breast tissue since I've had 33 years to hang out with them 😂 I am also aware I have dense breast tissue. She insisted it was a benign cyst and did not even send me to get a biopsy. Instead, she wrote an order for me to get a mammogram every ten years. If I had waited I'd be dead!
