Dr Porter was treating father at St Thomas Spring 2017. He had a lymphoma. Dr Porter told my dad if it were him he'd just live as long as he could no treatment meaning give in to the cancer. My dad lived 2 1/2 years after with another doctor caring for him. My dad was happy and thankful for those two + extra yrs. And they were good years. My family found Dr Porter to be uncaring and his bedside manor to be less than stellar. I’m only giving star because I have to.

Absolutely appreciate the care provided by Dr Porter and his staff. Dr Porter has been my Oncologist for 5yrs and has always proven to have my well-being at the forefront. He always reviews test results and diagnostics with me, as well as inquires about my overall day-to-day feelings & outlook. He always asks for my input & together we project a care plan based on latest results. I believe I am being provided the best possible oncology care available anywhere in the nation.

I have seen Dr. Porter for several years and have been extremely pleased with his care and treatment of my problem. He explains his findings and treatment plan in detail and is willing to consider requests that I have made as far as treatment. He is always prepared when he walks in to talk with me. He is kind and understanding.

When entering the room he has his plan in mind and does not listen to the patient and their desires. He talks very fast and will ask 4 questions in a row and does not give you the time to answer the question. When we did try to explain he commented "Quit your whining", "I told you that the last time you were here" (there were 4 of us in the room and no one heard the information). When we ask if we could ask a question he commented, "Oh hell I am already 3 patients behind what is your question
