In operation since 1961, Leske’s Bakery is the neighborhood’s favorite go-to place for baked goodies. Traditional Scandinavian baked items, cookies, donuts, pies, cakes and artisan breads are just some of the menu offerings. Peanut Butter and Jelly Donut, Butter Cookies and Chocolate Mousse Cake are particularly good. Patrons also get a complimentary coffee if they drop by between 5a and 7a and buy one of the menu items on offer. Open everyday from 5a, Leske’s Bakery is where you should be headed for an ear... read more

Leske's Bakery I bought your Yulekaker in Rowland Pa at a craft fair. It was the same taste as I got 50 years ago in Brooklyn. I think it was Larsen's, than we got Christiansen's which was not as good. I will get people who go to the city get it from you, it was really great. Thank You
Norwegian Baked Delights Leskes has been a staple in the Bay Ridge Community for more years than I care to remember. Sunday mornings, it was Church and then stop for cake and bread at Leskes. Not to miss products: during the holidays its Christmas Limpa bread and Yuleakager. Year round you can get the best apple strudle, cheese danish, black and white cookies and a personal favorite - custard kringla. Don't miss the bakery when you are in Brooklyn, a piece of Brooklyn's cultural history. PROS: Norwegian cakes and breads CONS... read more
Best Bakery in Brooklyn by far - and possibly all of New York.... As a former baker, I couldn't help but offer a review of LESKE'S Bakery - a true, old world bakery where everything is made from scratch daily. (Unlike most bakeries today. Sad to say, but almost ANYONE can open a bakery with little or no baking experience. Wholesalers make nearly all baked goods available either frozen and ready to bake, or frozen and completely baked. From danish to muffins to cookies, they do nearly all the work for you. Check out most supe... read more

Best traditional (non-italian) baking – We've all gotten used to generic baking. We buy crumbcakes in boxes at the supermarket, and everything is artificial. Our friends bring donuts to the office. They are greasy and mildly tasty and the sugar sticks to your insides and eventually kills your spirit. Not at Leske's. These guys make donuts (something no other baker takes as much time with) exciting! The fillings are just that ... fillings! Not a drop of jelly, it's FULL of jelly. There isn't anything they make that isn't good... read more

Old Scandanavian Bakery – This is a piece of old Bay Ridge from when it was lots of Norwegian, Irish and Swedes. The bread (not Italian) is amazing and the cakes and pies are great too. The hours are limited. They open at 9:00 and don't bother going after mid-afternoon, because they will be wiped out.
Leske's Bakery has a 4.1 star rating with 308 reviews.
Leske's Bakery is closed now. It will open at 9:00 a.m.
