Excellent concert and worth the drive up from Corrales. However, being a Mozart Birthday concert, sandwiching an un-listenable piece of modern music in between two Mozart pieces was wholly inappropriate. I understand the desire of musicians to exercise their skills, and perhaps expose the audience to new experiences. But, a concert devoted to specifically that kind of music would be far more appropriate. Suffice it to say, I am going to look more carefully at future Pro Musica offerings. Great music to celebrate Mozart's 300th birthday. Mozart is one our favorite classical composers. So strong and uplifting and he would never give up in the case of adversity! I feel he is truly the People's classical composer! I never tire of Mozart and love the movie "Amadeus!"
Lovely old converted movie palace. Heard Santa Fe Symphony and acoustics were quite good (as was the orchestra).
We had such an amazing time at the Lensic for their Family Fun concert with Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds and Trout Fishing in America! Thank you to Executive Director, Joel Aalberts, and the Lensic staff for giving back to the Santa Fe community and its youngest lovers of the arts in this beautiful way. It was a huge success and both parents and kids had such a blast!
Fabulous performance last night from some of my favorite singer songwriters: Dave Alvin, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and James McMurtry. Thanks, guys!
