I got an estimate at Lenscrafters yesterday for glasses with premium progressive Transitions lenses. I was told they would cost about $500 even using my (really good) vision insurance. I went to another optical place this morning. Designer frames there, with the same lens type, would be about $400 with no insurance at all! With the insurance, they'd be $200 - $300. IMO, the only reason to use Lenscrafters in the past would have been when I had an emergency because of broken glasses or whatever. Now that they no longer offer ... read more
