I took my Škoda in for a cracked sunroof believing no external cause and covered under warranty. Unfortunately VW didn’t agree and assessed it to be due to stone chip. Naturally I’m disappointed. I kindly asked how this assessment was reached. Julian (I think his name was) then sought the technician come out to explain. There was a tiny chip on the top of the windscreen just below where the sunroof crack started which is believed to have ricocheted. I didn’t see it. The chip is so tiny.
