When my 83 yr old MaMa took ill with a couple of severe complications that left her in a lot of pain & discomfort staying in the hospital, as she continued her stay with little or no progress Our Family quickly made arrangements and decisions that had to be made asap to ensure her comfort and peace. Please do your research on the differences between hospice organizations for your loved one's sake. While there are several kind employees working at LV Pocono Hospice, and the respite house is a nice facility, this agency is driven by and makes its decisions based on the bottom line ($) and not the best care/support options for its patients. My mother was on service for six months and the service never adapted (15 minute visits with the nurse twice a week and a once a week visit from once of the two total CNAs on staff who ... read more
