Dr Shapiro is a specialist and expert in the care and treatment of people with scleroderma - a rare autoimmune disease. He won’t see people to treat other rheumatic diseases, because they’re not his area of expertise. It’s like complaining that an oral surgeon won’t see someone for a dental cleaning - it’s not what they do.
This office refused to even see me because my symptoms sound like “fibromyalgia” I am certain this isn’t fibromyalgia. They wouldn’t even give me the chance to say I am a career firefighter. My career lies in the hands of these Dr’s that refuse to help.
He's mean, nasty and only wants to handle patients with scleroderma - I have lupus so he yelled at me for going to him.
I have been a patient of Dr. Shapiro for 15 years. He is amazing, thorough, comprehensive... He is up to date on research and theories. I would drive hours to stay his patient.
