never had a problem in the past until this year. from putting incorrect billing codes on my script (which can cause health insurance to deny coverage) to telling me my insurance doesnt cover radiology imaging (which it does), to telling me my breast MRI is negative (and failing to mention i need additional imaging for ultrasound which is on the same report), to then not even calling me to let me know that i need additional imaging because a mass was found on the ultrasound, to being rude when im asking questions about the re... read more
The Dr was insensitive to my medical needs. She did a biopsy and made me feel like it wasn't a big deal . She said you have cancer, and didn't even have the tumor pathology report yet . The office never returned my calls. One late ,afternoon Dr Gendler called screaming on the phone with bad news and was talking to other staff members while discussing my case with me. I can't say enough positive things about Dr Gendler and her staff. She performed my nipple/skin sparing bilateral mastectomy in October. My initial consultation was almost an hour long. She was extremely thorough and patient the entire time and provided me with every scenario possible. I initially had my mind set on a highly regarded surgeon from Sloan Kettering but couldn't choose her after comparing my two office experiences. From mammography, to ultrasound, biopsy and surgery, I knew I was in the right place when I found out my breast caner was back. The doctors, nursing staff, and support staff were so supportive. Dr. Gendler was extremely confident and answered all my questions making herself available to answer those I came up with outside of our office visit. I was recently diagnosed with BRCA1 triple negative breast cancer. These have been the most frightening and challenging few months for my family and I. Dr. Gendler made all of my fears, worries, and questions disappear. I brought friends and my husband to several appointments. She answered all of our questions in plain English. fter being diagnosed with breast cancer, I sought opinions and advice from Dr. Gendler as well as a top doctor at Sloan. Armed with many questions , fears and decisions, Dr. Gendler answered all questions at length, never did she make feel rushed. She calmed my fears and helped me make sense out of all the confusion that is cancer. She and her staff made time for me in their schedule when I had last minute concerns. 1/22/2014 I went for my biopsy today. Great staff. Professional and courteous. Dr. Gendler is very nice, friendly and down to earth person and takes the time to fully explain procedures and medical conditions.
