Guy comes knocking on the door, promoting their product in the neigborhood, booked a free estimate appointment for gutter servicing program and install new mesh.I get a call next day informing my first appointment is cancelled for some reason so reschedule it again and surprise surprise NO SHOW on the day of appointment, no phone call ,no voicemail if not coming. Warning, this company is a scam. I got an assessment and quote. They came and told me they would clean my gutters, silicone them, and put some mesh over them. Based on that I expected this to cost somewhere between $500 - $1,000. After a very long and elaborate pitch (30 minutes of my time) I was then quoted $10,000!!! I politely sent them on their way and have subsequently done some research, if you were to do this yourself it would cost about $300 dollars and would take about 4 hours. Had an estimate done. I felt the salesman was pulling numbers from a hat and said it would be $6k. After I said that was way more than I expected he eventually said he could do 4500, and then 2700 and then 2000. I don't want to do business with a company that can't give a straight forward honest quote based on sq. footage. I would avoid.
I showed interest in gutter guards during a recent trade show, gave them my information and received a promise for a free consultation. Staring the following Monday, 3+ phone calls a day, constantly filling my voice mailbox with pre-recorded messages impersonating an actual rep. When I am able to answer my phone (during the working day), the same prerecorded spiel with a representative ghost, then a click, and then dead air.
