I have had care from Lea Shim for awhile now and she is very complacent about her patients care. I have been dealing with hyperthyroidism and had thyroid toxicity problems that were ignored. I now am looking at surgery for my thyroid as it was ignored for to long and labs not put in sooner. Other labs have been out of wak for years with no answers and no treatment but they need treated. I do not recommend having her as a PC because you will just stay sick.
I came in for my free yearly physical. During the visit the doctor asked if I had any concerns. I should have just said no or been told that mentioning other concerns would result in a $106.00 charge. I mentioned thinning hair. She looked at my scalp noted it was dry recommended a scalp moisturizers and said it was common hormonal issue in post menopausal women. This took less than a minute and I am being asked to pay $106.
I have been waiting over 3 days to get a simple prescription refilled. It is medication I need on a daily basis and the clinic was EXTREMELY, unhelpful and even threatened to put my request to the back of the line. Wow. I'm actually in pain and the girl on the phone actually said oh well.
I had a bad experience with my old pcp. Dr Shim became my new pcp and is Wonderful. She listens to you and talks to you like you matter. She is thoughtful, thorough and always answers my questions. I don’t feel like just a number. I’m a complex case and she is on top of it all. Her and the staff are wonderful and answers MyChart questions in a timely manner. I would recommend her and have to all my friends and love ones. Thank you Dr Shim and Alysa!
Dr. Shim listens intently, has a calm presence, is willing to take your opinion into account, and is responsive to medication refills or questions on mychart. She is thorough and I feel heard after seeing her.
