We went there for our wedding anniversary. We did not make a reservation. Showed up at 5:30, waiter told us to go stand out of the way. Showed us a table to sit at after 5 minutes. Told us be had to be out of there by 7:00. My wife told him, we had a play to be at by that time. He said, "That's what they all say!" Took our order right a way, so we could leave sooner. We went last weekend when they were down a sous chef but we wouldn’t have been the wiser if we weren’t told that. With such a short staff they didn’t skip a beat. The food was served in a timely manner and everything was delicious! This is a must try!
Don’t waste your time. The chef had a stroke 2 years ago and doesn’t come in, and the sous chef wasn’t here tonight, either. Furthermore, the so-called maitre d’ is not what you’d expect. We left before ordering.
Everything was absolutely perfect. My partner and I rarely get a whole night alone and we made the most of it at La Troquet. The server was polite, kind, hard-working and considerate of everything. A top-flight dining experience. Scrupulous attention to detail at every point of the meal. A true fine bistro experience which easily equals or surpasses meals I have had throughout France. This is a true treasure in Albuquerque.
