I was disappointed by menu I’m asked for foie gras but It’s not!! It’s fraîche foie cooked in olive oil with bread toasted I show to the witnesses what it’s the real foie Gras , She tall me we cook this way here Beautiful restaurant too noisy
The restaurant is in a beautiful old mansion. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is good. The food isn’t as “French” as I expected. Our only disappointment was the lack of a decent burgundy/pinot noir wine option. The one they do have is surprisingly bad. Having spent time in the burgundy region of France, I have definitely had bottles I liked more than others, but have never had one that was just terrible like the only option at this restaurant. Great French burgundy doesn’t have to be expensive…
I'm just going to get this out of the way! BEST dining experience in La Crosse I've ever had! Last night's road to dining lead us to La Chateau in La Crosse, WI. They have been on my to-do list for only a few months because I didn't know they existed! I'm sure glad I know now! What a great dining experience!
