My wife and I did a four-mile float of horse shoe bend. There are a lot of trees in the river, especially in the first mile, but everything was easy to navigate and we had no issues at all. Booking a trip on the web site was easy and convenient and Matt was great at getting us all prepared with gear and info. We saw one otter and several herons during our peaceful trip. Highly recommend!

Great experience last week with this company and would highly recommend them if you are in the area. Owner is fantastic, extremely accommodating and makes the journey feel safe from start to finish! I would consider myself a fairly novice kayaker but was able to complete the journey with no problems. There are trees and logs to navigate, but as long as you keep your eyes on the river there are no issues with getting around them easily and in time. Current is quite slow so its an enjoyable ride. I hadn't done this in probably 35 years or more and then only once or twice! But I couldn't find a friend to go with me, so I went by myself and it was wonderful. I saw turtles, otter footprints on the sand when I stopped for a snack, and a cormorant! My second paddle with Lazy Otter was equally awesome, and this time I brought a friend. It's an easy float, requires minimal skills to get past fallen trees and branches here and there. The river is shallow, slow, lazy and beautiful.
