Literally the best hospital with the best staff in Davis county! I won't be going to other hospitals ever again.
I’ve loved working with the midwives. I took a Bradley Class with this baby (my second) and opted into the Layton Hospital Simply Birth Plan (their program for no/low intervention births). I’ve felt completely supported and respected with my plan to have an unmedicated birth; I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how progressive this hospital seems! I have yet to deliver my baby (I’m days away from my due date) but my experience has been wonderful and I’ve loved all of the midwives!
After delivering my baby, I was wheeled into a dystopian realm known as the Women and Newborn unit. They called it "recovery", but it was the opposite. Nurses launched a regimen of tests and treatments on our baby, giving me no satisfactory evidence for it. They repeatedly cut our tiny infant girl for blood, making her scream. We got no rest; only pressure to comply. As a parent I felt totally disregarded. They never asked my consent. We felt harassed and cajoled.
