I contacted these people for a quote to cut down and remove a tree (maple, under 50ft). They came back with an outrageous number of $3,500. I told them that was more than we could afford and asked for a second quote just to cut it down, but not remove. They ignored me and never replied. I’ve been in touch with multiple tree services since then and have been told the Lawson quote was way out of line. The company I ended up choosing only charged me $1,200 (and they were actually located much further away).

Your email stated you could not afford that price and if we were willing to do it cheaper by just laying it down to let you know.
