We had a superior meal, – Absolutely the work of a real master of his craft. The restaruant has a pleasant, quiet, low-key atmosphere and we had a fine zinfandel at a reasonable price that complemented the food.I especially liked the little extra touches, the amuse-bouche and the petit-fours and obvious thought which went into the presentation.
NOT SO GREAT SCOTT – What's there to say? We were greeted by a rude hostess, the service was mediocre & slow and the food wasn't all that great. Apparently this chef didn't learn much from his stay in Europe. I don't see what all the hype was about.
Great Scott – New American with French, Italian and Asian acccented dishes. We were seated promptly and welcomed by a warm friendly staff. Soft lighting and tall candles on the table make it very romantic. The sesame crusted ahi tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes, sauteed pea shoots and tempura onion rings, braised lamb shank with fresh herbed fettuccine (Best of New York April 2002) falls off the bone, Miso marinated chilean sea bass are just some of the dishes we've enjoyed.
