Lawrence Bridge Boat Ramp and Park is a nice area, but my visit felt uncomfortable and unsafe. When I pulled in, there were people nearby and activity that made it feel like I might have arrived in the middle of a drug deal. After they noticed me, some people left, and vehicles continued driving back and forth. I didn’t feel safe getting out of my car. Someone called the police, but no one came while I was there. I wanted to share my experience so others can be aware.
Great little spot to put in a kayak. Was *almost* able to paddle up to the Newry mill, but low water and some nasty red algae got in the way. Very pleasant paddle up the stream, though, with lots of fish and wildlife along the way.
