Dr. Lavit was suggested by my lawyer for some court appointed counseling. I couldn't have been more pleased with him regarding my counseling. He listens very attentively and knows what has happened before I can complete my thoughts. His experience and knowledge about family matters is vast and can pinpoint a problem very quickly. Dr. Lavit was court appointed for my daughter and her family back in 2016. My grandchildren are still in counseling thanks to his overpriced parenting plan that did NOTHING to address the issues specified in the requested parenting plan. He spent more time bashing Trump than he did talking about the concerns raised. A complete joke and completely incompetent if a parenting plan is how he interpreted a court order. Dr. Ron Lavit is a pathetically old man, way past his ability to help people. His judgement is gone, and is morals are questionable. he allows his assistants to act for him. Pretending to be him. He should retire. Families subjected to is judgement are only hurt by his long past ability to decertify what is best for children in troubled homes.
Dr. Lavit did a phenomenal job working with my two kids, me, and my ex-wife. My ex-wife and I were constantly at each others throats regarding custody and disagreeing on doing what is best for our kids. Dr. Lavit was extremely compassionate and really put the needs and interests of our kids at the forefront. My ex wife and I will probably never see eye to eye but I am grateful that Dr. Lavit has been able to help resolve some of our tension and help us find common ground for the sake of our kids.

Dr Lavit is the worst. Your child and family will be damaged if he is appointed in your court case. Read the reviews and believe them. Aside from being unethical, dishonest, completely unprofessional, he will not follow up on required court reports that cost $300 each and sometimes may only be 4 or 5 short sentences. This then your case gets delayed and he asks judge for extensions, just so you can go through the same ordeal in another 90 days. Meanwhile him and the lawyers get rich and your family suffers. This man and Kathleen are out for their own interests only. I am a woman but my husband hired his friends daughter as a lawyer so he sided with him. He threw paperwork at me, laughed when given tape evidence of abuse from my EX towards the children and told my 11 year old son to "get used to not seeing your mom" to which my son had nightmares. Incompetent Dr Lavit's recommendation to the court included so many factual errors, and omitted important information that had been provided to him, along with supporting evidence. Instead he recounted info that was told to him by the other party without ANY evidence. And his report went on ad nauseum about how he needed $10,000 more from each party in order to do a proper evaluation (this despite MONTHS of sessions with him and thousands of dollars already). He cares more about the money and not at ALL about the facts.
