I have never been more disappointed in a swim program. The quality has completely gone downhill since last year. Back in 2024, my son’s experience was amazing his instructor was hands on, patient, and actually in the water teaching. We even booked private lessons with her on Fridays because she was that good.Now that my son is in a higher level, it’s like night and day. Never had a WORSE swimming experience for my kid than the one we had at the LAVC swimming pool. What they offer is NOT a swimming class and it’s actually very dangerous for children. The kids are asked to swim laps with NO SUPERVISION by their instructor who has happily chatting with a colleague and not even looking at them. My 7-year-old daughter reported that the instructor wasn’t even interested in talking to them. Stay away if you care about your little one’s swimming skills and water safety!!
Nicest facility in the area, by far. Just wish they had longer operating hours. Adult lap is currently only available M-TH 6-8pm and Fridays 5-8pm. However, classes are offered throughout the day and the staff is excellent.
