LCPW is the worst utility company around for a hundred miles. The bills of not just me but hundreds of google reviewers and Laurens City residents have skyrocketed since June. A friend had her bill shoot up to almost $600 a month with no reason given. Mine is almost $400 for the 3rd month in a row. I live alone and I do not have central heat or air. Awful customer service! They can care less if it's in the winter or summer, they will turn you power off! I do not understand why they now give you only three times a year to make a payment arrangement concerning paying your bill. In case you are unable to to pay a past due amount and your services are disconnected, you have to pay a reconnect fee (which I understand) but you also have to make an appointment to have their technician come to your home to reestablish service in the morning. Thy are overcharging in utilities. For the month of June I got a really expensive bill over 900 dollars a bulk of that was for water $211 of it only was for electricity the rest of the monies was for water! Long story short I thought that my neighbors had stole water to put in there new pool! But as I carefully considered things I realized that the mistake may have been CPW and the meter readings. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this issue. As a matter of privacy, the Laurens CPW does not discuss the details of a customer’s account with anyone other than the customer. However, I can confirm that the CPW’s Water and Sewer Superintendent and Operations Director investigated the situation and determined that the customer’s water meter was functioning properly, the meter reading was correct and there were no water leaks in the customer’s plumbing.
