My fiancé is pregnant, her insurance lapsed and there is about a 1 month period where we are stuck without coverage. We have had 2 appointments missed during this time. We stated our willingness to self pay, Dr. Spoo?s nurse informed us they charge $500 for a checkup without insurance. Which is absolutely ridiculous, our insurance has had to pay less than $250 pre visit.
