My dad and his girlfriend moved into the independent living apartments. The staff is so amazing and helpful. The apartment if far nicer than any we have visited in Henderson and Polk county. They had a very bad experience at a place in Hendersonville. But this facility is amazing and so much better than they experienced in the past. And far better than we expected. My mother had a nightmare experience at Laurel Woods. We moved her to Laurel Woods to be closer to family. Before accepting her for care, the Wellness Coordinator had a 45 minute video call with the staff at the previous assisted living facility who carefully described and demonstrated how to care for Mom. The move in went smoothly, but when we visited Mom that evening, we found her in soiled clothing trying to get onto the toilet. Food prep and service is terrible. The hot food gets served cold and the cold food gets served at room temp. Soup was not served to the tenants last night. They just put it out in a bowl and it was self serve. Nothing to keep the soup warm. Was just a container with a lid. Also an existing water heater leak from the 3rd floor was allowed to leak all the way to the 1st floor until it seeped up from seems in the floor. The wall and ceiling stains were just painted over.
