Dr. Homewood has been the most caring doctor I have ever worked with. As someone who is chronically ill and generally distrustful of doctors she has greatly exceeded my expectations. I waited 6+ months for my first appointment but when I met her I understood why she was so booked out. I have some serious medical and sexual trauma and she treated me with so much kindness and understanding during appointments, surgery, and post-op. I stupidly read the bad (and good) reviews 2 days before my appointment so I was very nervous going in; however, Dr. Homewood was great. I arrived early and was able to be seen early. I felt welcomed and I felt heard. She took the time to really get to know me and I felt comfortable asking questions that perhaps I wouldn't feel comfortable with a different provider. They don’t even deserve one star. Don’t waste your time, extremely unprofessional and have no problem with mistreating new patients. Scheduled an appointment well over a month in advance for endometriosis treatment I also needed antibiotics desperately. Went to appointment on time and was impressed with how fast they had me do vitals and check in, I was already naked in a robe ready to go when instead of a doctor coming in they sent 2 admin in to refuse me treatment due to mis-scheduling. Ignore the negative reviews. Dr. Homewood is amazing. She listens and validates you and if you've had a negative experience with something so doesn't try to downplay it. She acknowledges it and doesn't recommend it again. She made me feel really understood. She's very thorough and always stopped to make sure I didn't have any questions and that I understood everything. She gave me multiple options and helped me weigh the pros and cons of all of them. I have been waiting MONTHS for this appointment because UVA is apparently "the best." The doctor just gave me recommendations for local pelvic floor PTs. Which I explained several times I HAD ALREADY TRIED many times.
