Ignore the negative reviews. Dr. Homewood is amazing. She listens and validates you and if you've had a negative experience with something so doesn't try to downplay it. She acknowledges it and doesn't recommend it again. She made me feel really understood. She's very thorough and always stopped to make sure I didn't have any questions and that I understood everything. She gave me multiple options and helped me weigh the pros and cons of all of them. I have been waiting MONTHS for this appointment because UVA is apparently "the best." The doctor just gave me recommendations for local pelvic floor PTs. Which I explained several times I HAD ALREADY TRIED many times. This was nothing new to me and I wanted to work with her and talk with her about actually helping my problem, which she literally could not have cared less about and just seemed annoyed I was there. She is SOO personable and knowledgeable. My specialist referred me to her as she was more knowledgeable on this condition. She performed surgery and walked me through every step. Would highly recommend.
First and foremost I do not know anymore whether Dr Homewood is a bad doctor but she doesn't advocate for the termination of Starr Lewis who is a threatening abuser. Additionally I have no knowledge of Dana Redick advocating for this incompetents termination which happened on her watch while Dr. Homewood was on maternity leave. I do know however that I waited for 2 years to get a treatment plan for chronic excruciating pelvic pain for which I went to the ED 3 times.
