Update: Thankfully we were able to get refunded on our deposit, and have since decided against installing a pool. *** We signed a contract in October for a March installation. The installation was supposedly delayed due to permit issues. When we inquired again, it was delayed due to a bond issue as the owner had died in November. They should have been forthcoming as to the death and possible issues. Moreover, they should have offered a refund. They've been unresponsive in the last few weeks.
