Paid $320 for cornrows in the front and box braids. The lady braided a braid so painfully tight In the middle of my head I had to take it out within weeks. It’s been 3wks and the middle of head is still extremely sore. At this point, I think she did it intentionally. I was overcharged and left with itchy painful braids. Will never set foot in that place.

Just moved to New York and I am grateful to have found a quality hair shop that can take care of my natural hair and do my braids, sew in and whatever other hair style I need. I truly enjoyed my experienced. I met the owner Mama and she really gave made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I am excited to have this place, as my new salon.

I regularly go to Latifa for 3 strand twists, and they are always the best twists I have ever had done. I get compliments on their freshness for days (sometimes even weeks) after they are done. I’ve waited up 2 months to have my old braids taken down and they are so patient and gentle (I am a tender-headed man who is new to salons) and they are able to take down my hair easily. I came in with severely matted hair (acute hair felting caused by castor oil), and every other salon I visited told me I would need to cut it all off. But the two miracle workers, Lidiya and Faridatu, spent three hours working tirelessly and were able to remove the knot without cutting my hair. Mama was also incredibly generous and offered me a complimentary hair wash treatment. Overall, I’m amazed by their professionalism and service—they truly saved my hair!
