In the late 1950's Johnny Latham turned a long time hobby of growing plants into a prosperous business. The business grew right along with the growing Charlotte marketplace. Soon joined by his wife, Judy in the early 1970's, we built a reputation of growing quality plants for the growing wholesale and retail trade in Mecklenburg and Union County.Later joined by their son, Hunter in the mid 1990's as Sales Manager, our business grew to cover all of North Carolina and the northeast region of the United States. Dear Mr Critic from Waxhaw, My name is Hunter Latham and I would like to thank you for your call back in 2011. I actually remember your call and it is because of you that we always open now no matter what the weather conditions. If I remember correctly, it was a cold, rainy Saturday morning and I made the call to close because I didn't think anyone would be coming out to shop at the nursery. Great selection and very knowledgable
does not honor their business hours – Latham's publicly advertises winter hours in February and March as being open Saturdays from 8AM until Noon. We drove in from Waxhaw last Saturday morning 2/12/2011. We arrived at 8:30 AM only to find the main gates locked. There were 3 phone numbers posted to call for entry but no one answered, instead, all we got for our trouble was a recorded msg. The irony is that their entry gate hours advertise 7:30 AM til Noon in Feb. I called them on Monday and their reply was "Oh - we are open f... read more
