Founded in 1950, this is one of Nevada's oldest museums although in 1997, the facility moved to the Sahara West Library Fine Arts building. Las Vegas Art Museum hosts several exhibitions in its spacious environs that covers 30,000 square feet. The museum has several different art forms; however, there is an emphasis is on contemporary art. The museum has an exceptional permanent collection and maintains Smithsonian standards.
