My monthly rate is all over. We lost our home delivery person so now it comes A DAY LATER but they want to charge full price for it. When they notified me that we were no longer getting same day delivery they discounted it. Now one month might be $72, the next $41, then maybe $13. My subscription states $29 a month! The Lansing State Journal (LSJ) does not honor verbal pricing contracts given to customers. I was given a price of $4.99 per month in February 2024 for a 1 year digital subscription to the **** 5 days ago I received an email stating that my subscription price was going up to $11.99 on December 19th, 2024. I had a subscription for the Sunday paper then wanted to cancel it. I chatted with someone (since they don't let you cancel on your own), and they said they'd give it to me at a discounted rate. I agreed with the understanding it would stay at this rate, but I looked at my billing history and noticed it went up to full price only 2 months later. They tell me they warned me, but I have no recollection of it and am always cautious of companies doing this, so I am positive I had checked to make sure it would remain at this rate... read more

If I could rate them less than one star, I would. Every month I've got to call customer service, because since they have moved their call center to the Phillipines, my account is constantly screwed up. Need to call to get proper credits when the paper is on "vacation hold". My subscription is Wednesday thru Sunday in order to save money. Somehow, they come up with reasons to charge you more with extra charges on holidays (ie., Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) or provide their "premium edition".
