Took me months to get an appt for my procedure. I was told over and over they have sent my insurance the paperwork and are waiting on them to reply. After consistent checking in and asking for updates, they finally said they can’t do anything and I need to call my insurance. I called my insurance and found out in less than 3 minutes that they don’t require any paperwork and I can just schedule the procedure. The procedure was then scheduled the next week. I don't know who needs to read this, but if you get referred to this location, please do yourself a massive favor and ask for a referral to a different provider outside of Sparrow. My wife started having stomach issues back in October of 2024. She would experience tons of bloating, immediate pain when eating most foods, aand be several other issues. I had originally given Dr. Ahmad a five star rating; She is so knowledgeable and thorough; however I have been very dissatisfied with the lack of follow through with this office (there is none) and with the dr. I been given mixed messages, and at times no response at all, about questions I have regarding my care. Although Dr. Ahmad was great (initially) she and her team have not been overall. It is very disappointing to not have your questions answered or when your coordination of care is left up in the air.
Waited 6 months for an appointment. 2 days before my appointment they called me to cancel appointment because I had already been seen by another physician(general surgery)to get some test done because I had to wait so long to get an appointmentwith them. Apparently you are not allowed to seek a second opinion. I was told I am not allowed to do that. Thankfully my condition is not life -threatening. Go somewhere else!!!
My very first experience with this office is not a good one. Today I returned a call from this office. I followed the prompts and waited for the first available receptionist even though for 11 min. It stated there were zero persons in front of me. Then when a person did answer and I gave them the information they asked for and they we're going to connect me, but I was on hold for another 3 minutes.
