The Lanai Condominiums are a wonderful and uniquely special community. The building was built in the late 1950s. It was the first high rise over 5 stories built in the Cap Hill neighborhood and created quite a stir with the community at the time. Most of the homes on the area were large 1800s mansions and the idea of a condo building being constructed was unwelcome by the wealthy home owners who didn’t want their property values decreased or the landscape of the neighborhood changed by a large structure (sound familiar). A friendly community and the HOA cares about taking care of the building. I enjoyed living here. The building does have some issues being a bit older. Do your research on that if you're looking to move. But the community while I lived here was fantastic and I'm certain that element will continue to endure.
