They raised the appraised value $ 116,000 in one year with a homestead exemption . These people are criminals. You call them on the phone and they talk over you , don't listen, put the call on mute.
This was my first time disputing my property tax assessments in Lamar County. Thank you to the office staff with being very friendly and accessible, as well as to Ms. Jae Dickinson for explaining the process so throughly so that I achieved a very equitable assessment! The professionalism was much appreciated!!
So apparently the way they appraise your property is a virtual examination of your home. So if they see you have a nice yard a pool or nice finishes in your home your annual taxes go up... that sounds like something you would see in a socialist/communistic country.. NOT Texas.. No wonder Paris looks the way it does. You are penalized for taking care of your property.
