back in 2019 I came to Lam Dermatology for small bumps on my forehead that no matter how much picking or skincare products I tried, would never go away! They prescribed me tretinoin, and it worked so well that my skin was pretty clear up until two months ago. I came in for a second opinion regarding a laser treatment, specifically looking for guidance on healing and minimizing scarring. Instead, I was met with assumptions and a lecture before all the facts were gathered. The interaction felt condescending and not particularly helpful. I had a knot on my head show up and it was unknown for me. They did a biopsy and sent it off for testing. A week later I received a notice that I had an update in my portal, informing me it was cancer. Later that afternoon I got a call from the RN to inform me of the cancer and that I was being referred elsewhere. I never received a call from Dr Lam, explaining the cancer, prognosis, or the procedure I was being referred elsewhere to. I chose this practice because it had a wait time of 1-2 weeks versus 2+ months at other practices. My interactions with the front desk were the only friendly ones. Otherwise, it was a very unpleasant experience as a new patient. Once I was taken back to a room the nurse asked me the reason for my visit and quickly jotted down some notes.
