I would only recommend you send your loved one here if you want them to be neglected and not taken care of. The executive director and director of nursing are only there to collect a paycheck. If you are an involved family, they will do everything they can to evict your loved one. We witnessed (and have pictures of) several DHEC violations. The main entrance is not secured. Anyone can walk into the lobby at any hour of the day or night. Despite management indicating "That we have security protocols in place," they don't. Here's an example: I was visiting my Mother, who lives there, a few months ago. I went out to dinner with friends and returned very late (around 2:00 AM). The main entrance is not secured. Anyone can walk into the lobby at any hour of the day or night. It's a security issue that needs to be resolved. The management needs to secure the lobby and ensure that everyone entering the building after hours has a FOB ( not a code) to access the building. The lack of a secure entrance is a huge risk to the residents and a liability for the corporate owners of this facility.

My father has been a resident here for over a year and a half. He receives wonderful care and has such wonderful options to stay busy with activities. Everyone is friendly and my dad is happy at Lakewood. Knowing he is in such a wonderful place, is a blessing for our family!
