My aunt has been here only a couple of months but so far she absolutely loves it. The facility is very clean (I've never smelt urine or any bad odors). It's absolutely beautiful and well kept. She loves the food and most importantly the staff. They are very kind and respectful to her. She does fall from time to time but they are right there to assist and they call me to keep me updated until I can get there. The activities, musical entertainment, church services etc. are great. I would only recommend you send your loved one here if you want them to be neglected and not taken care of. The executive director and director of nursing are only there to collect a paycheck. If you are an involved family, they will do everything they can to evict your loved one. We witnessed (and have pictures of) several DHEC violations. Such as after a fall the next day my grandmother's emergency pull cord in the bathroom was wrapped around the towel bar where she could not have pulled it if she fell again. The main entrance is not secured. Anyone can walk into the lobby at any hour of the day or night. Despite management indicating "That we have security protocols in place," they don't. Here's an example: I was visiting my Mother, who lives there, a few months ago. I went out to dinner with friends and returned very late (around 2:00 AM). After parking my car, I walked to the front door of the building, pressed the entrance tab, and walked into the lobby. There is no security protocol, at least none for after business hours. The main entrance is not secured. Anyone can walk into the lobby at any hour of the day or night. It's a security issue that needs to be resolved. The management needs to secure the lobby and ensure that everyone entering the building after hours has a FOB ( not a code) to access the building. The lack of a secure entrance is a huge risk to the residents and a liability for the corporate owners of this facility.
