In my opinion the best place to have a baby in the twin cities. The nurses have all been great and so have all of the drs and other staff we have interacted with. Rooms are a tad smaller than we would have liked and the “beds” for dads to sleep on aren’t very comfortable. Abigail heller md is my favorite Dr in the obgyn dept and if you get nurse Molly while in the labor and delivery inpatient unit you are lucky 🙂. They also have very informative labor classes you can take along with breast feeding classes.

The bathtubs are too small to really be comfortable in during labor. Very disappointing. I had a much better experience there 10 years ago with our first baby. They've remodeled it since then and put in itty bitty bathtubs. I didn't enjoy my time there with our second birth. Also the doctor seemed like she really didn't like her job. She was rather unfriendly. We decided to leave 24 hours after giving birth because it was so hard for me to sleep there.

My boy was delivered here at Lakeview Hospital a year ago and my husband underwent a minor surgery here a month ago. We received great care in both instance. All nurses and staff were genuinely caring during our extended stay at the hospital post-delivery due to pre-mature birth and c-cesarean recovery. We feel lucky to have such a great hospital nearby.

I recently just had our second baby at Lakeview (our first was also there) and we had such a wonderful experience both times. All of the nurses and staff there are absolutely amazing, so kind and so helpful. Everyone there is so genuine, I, honestly, would not want to go anywhere else. We accidentally forgot to grab our baby’s footprints when we were discharged a couple weeks ago and I kept forgetting to call to ask if they still had them so we could swing by and grab them (because life with a toddler and a newborn has been ... read more
