Lakeside Pottery Studio created a beautiful Kinsugi restoration of a ceramic coaster that was a gift from a friend. The coaster slipped off my desk and broke into 4 pieces. I was so distressed - and then I remembered the Kintsugi technique which repairs items in a way that makes the damage shine artistically. Amazing work and amazing people. I had a special request for a wedding anniversary and not only were they able to do it and get it to me in time, but also walk me through everything and take their to to explain the process and make recommendations for things i wouldn’t have considered otherwise. In the corporate world we live in today the price i paid for this piece was worth every penny just to be treated as a valued customer, let alone the artistry and craftsmanship of the kintsugi piece itself.

Fast forward 25 years and we are working on Oahu, HI, and we are a moving to a new rental and the teapot gets shattered during the transfer from home to home, I CONCEAL THE BROKEN PIECES TO... read more

I found Lakeside through Reddit, and figured it would be my best shot. They were quick, understanding, so reasonably priced for the amount of work they did, and the package came back so well wrapped. Best of all, Morty contacted me after the Kintsugi was done because he noticed a defect in the glaze (no fault of mine) that could use a Kintsugi patch since it was sharp. I offered to... read more
