OMG, please let me tell you about my beautiful beautiful experience with Patty and Morty at Lakeside Pottery Studios, kintsugi artists extraordinaire!!! 30 years ago, my wife and I found a very lovely Italian ceramic teapot in an antiques place in Maryland. It is green with a bird motif and made in Vietri. It is my wife’s favorite teapot! Fast forward 25 years and we are working on Oahu, HI, and we are a moving to a new rental and the teapot gets shattered during the transfer from home to home, I CONCEAL THE BROKEN PIECES TO... read more

I absolutely cannot recommend Lakeside Pottery enough. I was completely devastated when I accidentally broke a gift that my partner had given me. I found Lakeside through Reddit, and figured it would be my best shot. They were quick, understanding, so reasonably priced for the amount of work they did, and the package came back so well wrapped. Best of all, Morty contacted me after the Kintsugi was done because he noticed a defect in the glaze (no fault of mine) that could use a Kintsugi patch since it was sharp. I offered to... read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lakeside Pottery and Mr. Morty. I brought them a Baby Jesus figurine that holds tremendous sentimental value for my mother. Unfortunately, it had been severely damaged and broken, and we were disheartened at the thought that it might never look the same again. After researching restoration specialists, my wife and I traveled all the way from Maryland to Lakeside Pottery because I wanted to entrust this precious family heirloom to someone with the right expertise and care. It was one... read more

My husband’s parents gave us a beautiful vintage hand blown vase for our wedding over 42 years ago. Somewhere along the way the vase was broken- but who did it has been a mystery. I love the Japanese repair technique and found Lakeside Pottery after a brief search on line. Morty was extremely helpful in sending a detailed quote very quickly, and followed up with a phone call to make sure I knew what to expect. The turnaround time was very short, and it came in time for our anniversary. The repairs are exquisite and will prov... read more

I am very delighted with the outcome of my B&G Polar Bear kintsugi repair! The bear looks so distinctive and is no longer a souvenir of a failed marriage - but a survivor - like me. It is my bear now and its sentimental value is greatly increased. Thank you Patty and Morty for the wonderful repair. My experience with Lakeside Pottery Studio was very positive starting with prompt and comprehensive correspondence. Shipping service was excellent. Work completed in a timely matter for a fraction of quoted NYC restoration costs. ... read more
