The Lakeside Inn (previously South Shore Inn) is the only hotel located on the shores of Clear Lake, Iowa. As of Spring 2018 our hotel has been completely renovated. Stayed in king room with patio. The room was right next to the restaurant. Got very noisy. Hard to sit outside with the air units ramping up. The room wasn't cleaned very well. there was chip crumbs under the coffee table. I was wearing new white socks that after a short time looked like a I wore them outside. The lake view was beautiful at sunset,that seems to be the only plus. Sorry.
Don't stay here. Our room is right behind the cafe. We cannot even open our curtain and sliding glass door, because people are sitting right there at the restaurant 1 foot away. Noisy from the piped in music( Boom Boom Boom)

We booked a room upstairs because they were full and when we arrived, the kind lady at the front desk said there was a cancellation so we got a nice room with a patio overlooking the lake. We went to the restaurant and they were very attentive. They brought our food order to our room. We had an enjoyable night on our patio with a lake view. Would definitely recommend.
